Getting the facts on the sexual health of potential bedmates has been greatly simplified thanks to a New York company that is offering a sexual history “license,” so Mr. or Ms. Right-now can provide on the spot proof of their STD status.

As reported by the New York Daily News, STFree Certifications has created the STFree card. By calling the phone number on the back of the card, partners gain access to the testing history of the cardholder. For would-be sex partners to access the information, cardholders must give them their pin number.

The STFree card was launched in 2004, by Brooklyn, New York native Eli Dancy, a club promoter who recognized that there was “a lot of irresponsibility” when it came to the sexual practices of some people from his Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. He created the card as a way of making information easier to access and as a way of raising awareness for people to use safer sex practices. Today over 15,000 people across America use the STFree service.

“In places like where I grew up and where I worked, there are incredibly high HIV and STD rates,” 28-tear-old Dancy told the Daily News. “This card opens up the conversation for people to talk about it.”

People can register for a STFree card online or at the STFree van that travels around New York City. To participate in the program, people must provide a detailed sexual profile and be tested for STDs. It costs $19.99 to register. Visit Stfree.com for more details.
