According to web reports, Sean Penn requested more gay sex scenes be written into his big screen bio flick of the life of homosexual politician and activist, Harvey Milk.

Reports say that James Franco, who costars with Penn in Milk, which premiered in San Francisco last October, was surprised to discover that the script had been rewritten to include more sex scenes.

“In the original script I read, there was only one real kissing scene,” said Franco. “A month after the director Gus Van Sant asked me to do it, they sent me another script, and on page five there was a full-on love scene. And I was like, ‘Gus, what the heck?’ He says, ‘Well, it was Sean’s idea.’”

Franco had also recently said in an interview that Penn had bragged to his ex-wife Madonna, who has pushed gender boundaries throughout her career, about his first on-screen gay love scene.

“After our kiss,” Franco said, “Sean texted Madonna and said ‘I just popped my cherry kissing a guy. I thought of you. I don’t know why.’”
