Policewomen In Germany Issued Bulletproof Bras
Posted on August 5th, 2008 by Genesis_DB under NewsIn Germany, female police officers are being issued bulletproof bras to add an extra level of safety and comfort to their occupation.
As reported in the Telegraph in London, female officers had taken issue with the fact that their standard issue bulletproof vests were causing discomfort by pushing the underwires and other fixtures of their regular bras into their skin. The new bullet-resistant undergarment alleviates the pain and injury created by the conventional vest and bra combination, while offering the female officers both safety and comfort.
3,000 female officers have each been issued three of the heavily padded bras and are required to wear one while on duty. The bras are available in many sizes and bear the German word for “Police” across the front.
