In the latest twist in the alleged Jimi Hendrix sex tape saga, Vivid Entertainment has answered charges that the male talent in the tape is not the legendary rock guitarist by offering $100k to the Hendrix Estate if they can prove that it is definitely not Hendrix on the tape.

The controversy began last week when Vivid announced that it was releasing a sex tape that showed Jimi Hendrix engaging in sex acts with two women in a hotel room in the late 1960’s. Vivid posted footage of the tape online, then released the footage, along with commentary from two women who had sexual experiences with Hendrix, Pamela Des Barres and Cynthia Plaster Caster, in a DVD titled, Jimi Hendrix: The Sex Tape on May 6th. Plaster Caster gave fuel to the argument that this was Hendrix on the tape by stating, “That’s Jimi Hendrix’s dick and I should know,” in the DVD commentary after comparing the footage with her own plaster prick taking from a mold of the legend’s member.

However, Experience Hendrix, LLC, the estate of the late rock star followed the release of the tape with a statement that brought the authenticity of the tape into question. The fact that it is really Hendrix on the tape was also questioned by Leon Hendrix, the brother of Jimi, who has stated publicly that it is not Jimi that was captured in a three-way on camera.
Vivid responded to the questioning of whether the sex tape of Hendrix was authentic by issuing their own statement to the press where Vivid co-chairman Steven Hirsch says, “The statement from Experience Hendrix proves nothing. Vivid took considerable time and spent a substantial sum of money to authenticate the footage and we are very comfortable that this is the real thing. We believe that those who say otherwise are relying on their emotions to make unsubstantiated claims. If Experience Hendrix can prove definitively that it’s not Jimi Hendrix on this footage, then we will pay them $100,000.”
