The New York Daily News reports that a convicted sex offender in Brooklyn, NYC was found naked and bleeding after apparently biting off part of his own penis.

Authorities rushed Damiene Iriarte, 26 to Brooklyn Hospital Center where he is recovering at this time.

Iriarte pleaded guilty in Suffolk County, NY in 2004 for a sex assault involving a minor.

At this point it is not known why Iriarte took a bite out of his penis.

“How he did it? Limber, I guess. Not the work of a sane mind,” a police official told The Daily News.
