E! News is reporting that actor David Duchovny has checked into rehab to seek treatment for sex addiction.

The 48-year-old star of the former cult hit TV series, “The X Files” and the recent Showtime cable network hit series “Californication” released a statement yesterday through his attorney on the matter. “I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction,” the statement read. “I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”

Duchovny has been married to actress Téa Leoni since May 1997. Together they have a nine-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son. E! News was quick to point out the irony in the fact that Duchovny won a Golden Globe this year for his role as an over-sexed struggling writer on the “Californication” cable series.

In a statement to E! News, Richard Licata, Showtime’s executive VP of Corporate Communications expressed the network’s support for Duchovny. “All of us at Showtime wish David and his family the best during this very private time,” said Licata.

This is not the first time that David Duchovny has dealt with the matter of sex addiction publicly. In an interview with Playgirl Magazine in 1997, the actor claimed– “I’m not a sex addict. I have never been to those meetings. It’s hurtful to my family and if I was involved with a woman in a monogamous relationship, it would be hurtful to her,” is how Duchovny addressed the issue.

In May of 1998 Téa Leoni addressed the same issue in an interview with Elle Magazine. “David was accused of being a sex addict,” Leoni said while having been married to Duchovny for a year at the time. “Which I always found very exciting. And then I found out it wasn’t true.”

“Men are like bulls,” Leoni continued in the Elle interview. “They gotta get the new cow. Maybe you’ve got to get the bull after he’s had a lot of cows, so you might just be the last new one.”

The second season of “Californication” premiers September 28.

TheSmokingGun.com has posted a story, complete with the police report, of a Wisconsin man who was arrested for burglaries that involved the theft of the bras and panties of his female victims.

Christopher Sullivan, 43, is being charged with five counts of felony burglary according to an affidavit filed in Winnebago Circuit Court for illegally entering the homes of at least five women and stealing panties, bras and photographs from the residences. The affidavit goes on the claim that Sullivan would then superimpose the women’s images onto pictures taken from adult magazines, and later mail these doctored images to the victimized women along with other strange photos that used Barbie dolls as props.

One female victim allegedly received an envelope from Sullivan that contained two Polaroid photos. One picture depicted “three Barbie dolls upside down, naked with their heads cut off.” The second picture depicted the victim’s head next to a decapitated Barbie. Written next to the picture was the message– “your head will be cut off, skinned, boiled, baked, we will have your skull on our table of sacrifice.”

Sullivan allegedly told police that he chose his upstairs neighbor as one of his victims because– “she and her boyfriend were having very loud sex,” and that disturbed him. He told police that he had chosen another of his female victims after she “caught his attention” while riding a lawnmower dressed in only a bikini.

Police searched Sullivan’s home and found a handwritten confession from the alleged perpetrator. In it he writes– “Recently I sent some threatening letters to; did damage to some property; and stole from some people that made me angry and frustrated.” The search also led to the police finding three headless Barbie Dolls with metal rods pierced through their knees.

Sullivan told the police that his intention was to “scare his victims.” According to the Oshkosh, WI police, Sullivan confessed that believed himself to be a “sexual predator.” However, his religion prevented him from raping or murdering his victims, as that would be a “grave sin.”

Sullivan faces more than sixty years in prison if convicted on all five felony burglary charges.

Customs. I’m not a fan any longer. They were still on my shit list from the NZ arrival where they held us for five hours (in a cold room with no food or water mind you). Did I mention the head of security came in for an autograph afterwards? I feel I should mention it.
Anyhow I waited in the customs line feeling pretty secure because it was my country after all and I hadn’t done anything that should warrant suspicion. Warrant is another word I am now sensitive to. I handed the officer my passport and he swiped it. He didn’t ask the usual stupid questions about what I did while I was gone and how long I was gone. Instead he asked what my social security number was and whether I was 5’5” with blue eyes and blond hair. “Yes,” I answered slowly. He looked at me again. Looked at the computer screen. Looked at me. “Have you ever been arrested?” he asked in disbelief.
Me: “No, why?”
Him: “It’s OK you can tell me, what were you arrested for?”
Me: “No really, I’ve never been arrested”
Him: “Never in Sacramento?”
Me: “Never. Why?”
Him: “because you have a warrant”
Me: “you’re kidding right?”
Him: “I’m afraid not.”
Me: “What’s it for?”
Him: “You should know.”
Me: “obviously I don’t so tell me.”
Him: “It doesn’t say here. What were you arrested for?”
Me: “I wasn’t arrested.”
Him: “well what do you think it’s for.”
Me: “I don’t know. This is the first I’ve heard of it.”
Him: “you were arrested though, right?”
He said it as if he were giving me a hint. He really wanted me to say I had been arrested. I didn’t care whether he believed I had been arrested or not. I just wanted to go.

Me: “yes?”
Him: “OK, now what were you arrested for?”
Me: “uh… missing jury duty?”
Him: “that’s not what it says here. Try again.”
Me (now screaming): “I don’t know I was never arrested!”
Him: “But you just said you were.”
I don’t know if I could possibly stress how long we went in this circle for. I could see my bag revolving on the carousel. I was waiting for him to laugh and say ha ha gotcha. He was not saying ha ha gotcha. He was talking into his stupid customs walkie talkie. I decided instantly that this was probably not good. That was immediately confirmed when another officer came over and asked for my company over to the carousel. Then she wanted my company on the other side of the building where they spent way too long deciding whether they also wanted my company in the little cold room with the stainless steel bench. They did. They patted me down. I was super smart about hiding my cell phone and the second they left me alone in my airport cell I whipped it out. No service. Damn.

Part of Angelina Jolie’s research for playing the role of Catwoman in the next Batman movie included getting acting advice from XXX movie legend Tera Patrick.

According to Celebrityspotlight.co.uk Jolie and Patrick are good friends, and the 33-year-old actress, mom and main squeeze of Brad Pitt feels that the adult film star has insight to offer when it comes to playing the feline nemesis of the caped crusader.

The New York Post reported that Jolie asked Patrick what her feelings were about taking on the Catwoman role, and that Jolie was so impressed with the porn star’s advice, that Jolie suggested that maybe Patrick should take the role herself.

Jolie would be the latest in a list of Hollywood stars to bring Catwoman to the screen that includes Michelle Pfeiffer, Julie Newmar, Halle Berry and Eartha Kitt.

Aside from giving birth to twins, Jolie was front and center in the news this summer with the box office smash, Wanted. According to the Celebrityspotlight.co.uk story, Jolie is also being approach for a number of other roles in future productions including The Thomas Crown Affair 2.

Kay McConaughey, the mother of movie star Matthew McConaughey, has written a very revealing book about her life, and in it she makes some very interesting admissions. Among these gems are statements about how Mathew’s father died while having sex with her, and that the 38-year-old star of films including the newly released Tropic Thunder was conceived by accident.

The book is called, I Amaze Myself!, and in an interview with Us Weekly to promote the book, Ms. McConaughey talked about her husband’s untimely demise. “On Monday mornings, he and I often said goodbye by making love,” said the author. “But one day, all of a sudden, it just happened. I knew that something was wrong, because I didn’t hear anything from him. Just nothing. But it was just the best way to go!”

Kay McConaughey goes on to say that she made sure Matthew’s father’s body was nude when it was removed from their home so his penis would be on exhibit.  “I was just so proud to show off my big old Jim McConaughey — and his gift,” says Ms. McConaughey.

On the matter of conceiving Matthew, which happened after she had married the future star’s father a third time, Kay McConaughey spoke candidly to Us Weekly. “I was deciding, ‘Do I want to have another baby? Do I want to have an affair? Or go back to school? That’s when Matthew was conceived. We had tried for 16 years and no baby. So Matthew was a big surprise!”

As of this writing Matthew McConaughey has not offered any public statement in reference to his mother’s claims, or her book.

In August of 1920, the 19th amendment to the US Constitution was ratified, giving women the right to vote. In 1970, August 26 was designated as Women’s Equality Day by congress. And on August 23, 2008 women in various cities across this great nation of ours took to the outdoors with their breasts bared to protest the double standard of men being allowed to be topless in public, while women are not afforded that same right.

This multi-city topless protest was organized by GoTopless.org. On the organization’s website, this mission statement is posted on the homepage.

Gotopless.org claims constitutional equality between men and women on being topless in public. Currently, women who dare to be topless in public in the US are repeatedly being arrested, fined, humiliated, criminalized. On Aug 23rd, 2008, topless women will rally in great numbers across the USA to protest this gross inequality in the law and will demand that they be granted the fundamental right to be topless where men already enjoy that right according to the 14th amendment of the Constitution…

Among the locations where topless women gathered in protest were Venice Beach in Los Angeles, South Beach in Miami, Santa Fe, New Mexico and Omaha Nebraska.

Rael, the founder of GoTopless.org, was at the Venice Beach protest and was interviewed by LAlist.com. “As long as men can be topless, constitutionally women should have the same right, or men should also be forced to wear something hiding their chest,” said Rael.

Other GoTopless.org bare-breasted protests to be held this summer include a topless demonstration at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

I ended up getting completely wasted last night, which, is not normally a problem in my book…however, I do prefer relegating drinking to a weekend activity. From what I can tell and a few limited recollections, I ended up drunk MySpace-ing and iPhone-ing practically everyone I know and harassing the majority of them. So, if you recieved any rude, harassing or bizarrly uncouth messages from me last night, I sincerely appologize.

I always drunk message people, but as most of you know, it’s just stupid, idiotic shit. Last night, though, I was in a particurlarly unpleasant mood and think I ended up taking it out on all my friends who have contributed absolutely nothing to my problems as of late.

For the past week, I’ve been playing therapist to variety of people, one of whom being my mother, who is currently jobless, melancholy and drinks far too often, which obviously leads to stress and conflict at times. I have just been incredibly drained and morose this past week or two, so forgive me, please, if I drunkenly harassed you.

However if you happen to be among the ones who got the normal stupid, idiotic and jovial messages I was sending out earlier in the night and you’re pissed…then you can go fuck your mother as far as I’m concerned. Lol”

Consider yourself apologized to. Me, I would have recorded it and posted it as my default song on Myspace. That would have been the shit.

As a matter of fact, if any drunken harlots would like to call me, hit me up for my number.
