Here’s a story I have been sitting on for a while because I chose confidentiality and friendship above a “story,” but it is official that Adella and Digital Playground have officially parted ways. The split between the superstar publicist/marketing professional and the production company is an amicable one, yet stills comes as a shock. Within the industry, Adella’s name and accomplishments have been synonomous with D.P., and during her time there as the company’s Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Adella was a driving force behind the careers of stars such as Jesse Jane, Tera Patrick, Teagan Presley, Stoya, Riley Steele and others, as well as the adult blockbusters, Pirates, Pirates II, Teachers, Babysitters, Nurses, and the Island Fever and Virtual Sex series.

I do know she loves this business and still will continue working in adult, not opening a whore house or whatever in Costa Rica like some “Nobody” thinks. While it’s good to have dreams — I wanted to be a NY Yankee and a Ghostbuster at one time — she’ll still be a key player in the adult industry. Many have already expressed interest in her talents and services, and I personally know that she has had so many opportunities and offers come in from other studios and talent over the years, and to be able to offer her services to everyone is something she’s long wanted to explore.

Similar to the shift of business from traditional catalog to internet-based is the shift in product preference of the customer.  Personal massagers (vibrators) continue to make up a larger portion of web sales.  Personal massager (vibrators) sales hit another high in 2009 and accounted for 1/3 the overall revenue.

The Seattle Times reports that Carnival Cruise Lines has refused the request from a singles travel group to book a second cougar-themed cruise.

The Miami-based cruise company held a cruise with a cougar theme last December and the singles group that hosted the festivities said the cruise drew around 300 sexy older women and those who admire them.

A Carnival spokesperson said that there were no problems with lthe December trip, it’s just a business decision. They have no room for groups with that “theme.” Analysts say it’s meant to protect Carnival’s focus on family fun.

The singles group says the ban is unfounded and that they’ve had no trouble booking with rival cruise lines such as Norwegian and Royal Caribbean.
