Nine flight attendants employed by Spanish Air Comet airline chose to pose nude for a calendar as a way to protest against the airline for wages that have gone unpaid.

A spokesperson for the flight attendants said that calendar models are doing this to  to “continue to publicize their situation and demand a solution” from the bankrupt airline.

The airline failed to pay staff for up to nine months before it finally filed for bankruptcy last December.

The company had debts of around 160 millions euros when it folded including unpaid wages.

Now the girls have decided to pose for the calendar to highlight their demand for unpaid wages to be paid as a priority from the firm’s assets by showing off their own assets.

They are also hoping to earn money from the calendar “to help their financial situation,” says Michel Velasco from Azafatas Alta con Tacon, an agency for flight attendants and models and one of the co-organisers of the project.

Young explains that Cybernet Expo has integrated a new system for handling all attendee registrations for the 2010 show.

“We’re using some new software this year, so registering for the show is easier than ever,” says Young.  “You can register one person, a group of people, and even log back in later to look up the details of your registration.”

In other developments, show organizers also announced today that it has negotiated the guaranteed lowest room rates with the Golden Gateway Hotel, lowering costs by almost 25% for this year’s show.  These rates will only be available to Cybernet Expo attendees.

“We only have a limited number of rooms at the reduced group rate, so they really are on a first-come, first-served basis,” explains Young.  “We highly recommend that attendees book their rooms immediately to avoid paying more later on.  To get the group rate, just follow the link from the CybernetExpo.com website, or mention group code ‘CSX’ when you call the hotel to make your reservations.”

The company adds that now is also a good time for companies who are interested in promoting themselves at Cybernet Expo to contact Jay Kopita, Director of Operations, to discuss the available sponsorship packages.

“I’m seriously pleased with the interest we’ve gotten from sponsors for this year’s show, it looks like we’re getting some major traction in San Francisco,” says Kopita.  “We’re just over three months out and we already have more sponsors lined up for this year’s show than we did at this time last year.  That’s a really positive sign.”
