Millennium Films’ Linda Lovelace biopic is set to premiere this week at the Sundance Film Festival. Titled Lovelace, the film stars Amanda Seyfried as the notorious Deep Throat legend.

An adaptation of Eric Danville’s biography The Complete Linda Lovelace, the film documents the starlet’s transformation from porn queen to anti-porn crusader, and details her alleged abuse by husband/manager Chuck Traynor.

A clip from the film can be seen here.

Harry Reems, Lovelace’s Deep Throat co-star, told the Salt Lake Tribune that Traynor was abusive to Lovelace and “did not die too soon.” Now 65, Reems is disappointed that he was not approached by the filmmakers to consult on the project.

“When you sit there naked waiting for a shot, you talk intimately,” Reems said. “I would hear a lot, especially from angry girls about their dads and how they were abused. My first guess with Linda was she was terrorized by her father.”

Lovelace is directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (Howl). Co-stars include Peter Sarsgaard as Traynor, Adam Brody as Reems, Sharon Stone and Robert Patrick as Lovelace’s parents, Hank Azaria as Deep Throat director Jerry Damiano and James Franco as Hugh Hefner.
