It seems as if a bra will not only offer a woman comfort and support, but it could also save her life.

In Detroit, MI a woman’s bra is being credited for saving her from a gunshot wound, as the metal underwire appears to have deflected a bullet that was fired at her during a break-in at a neighbor’s home.

According to police accounts of the incident, the 57-year-old woman was looking out her window last Tuesday when she witnessed three armed men breaking into her neighbor’s house.

One of the suspects saw the woman and fired a shot at her. The bullet broke through the window and glanced off the underwire of her bra. The bullet failed to penetrate her skin or cause any physical injury to the woman.

The suspects drove away after the shooting.
