Donald Thompson, a former Oklahoma judge who was jailed for using a penis pump in a courtroom, has been officially disbarred by the Oklahoma Supreme Court.

As reported by the Associated Press, Thompson, the former Creek County District Judge, was convicted on four counts of indecent exposure after he had been accused of using a penis pump in court. In 2006 Thompson was suspended from the bar and received a four-year sentence for his actions, of which he served 20 months.

Though other judges that were convicted of felonies had not been disbarred, Supreme Court Justice John Reif felt that the decision to disbar Thompson was appropriate considering the nature of his offense. “The nature of the crimes in this matter led this Court to conclude that nothing less than disbarment is appropriate. The conduct was not isolated, having occurred over a fairly lengthy period of time and on four separate occasions.”

During his trial, Thompson said that the penis pump was a “gag gift from a hunting buddy, and he denied ever having used the device in court.

Though Thompson maintains his innocence, the Supreme Court claims that Thompson never responded to requests for a hearing on his disbarment. However, Thompson’s legal counsel says that the former judge had no intentions of practicing law again after he resigned once the allegations of lewdness were first made.
