The poster shown here for Kevin Smith’s latest flick, Zack and Miri Make A Porno has not been approved by the Motion Picture Association Of America (MPAA) and will not be used in promotional campaigns for the movie in America. However, the poster was given the thumbs-up in Canada, and will be used to promote the film in the Great White North.

Zack and Miri Make A Porno stars Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks as roommates who decide to make an amateur porn movie as a way to deal with their financial hardships.

Smith recently won an appeal to overturn the original NC-17 rating for movie. And while he understands that his project might push the envelope a bit, he is having a hard time swallowing the fact that the promotional poster breaks any standards of decency.

“When you’ve got the word ‘porno’ in the title, naturally, the marketing materials are gonna be scrutinized more closely by the MPAA,” said Smith. “I understand they’ve got a job to do, but c’mon…this image isn’t that dirty; they’re both fully clad.”

Zack and Miri Make A Porno is scheduled to be released on October 31.
