‘Top Gun’ star Kelly McGillis has confirmed longstanding rumors that she is a lesbian, gossip sites are reporting. They quote McGillis as saying to RadarOnline that, “I’m done with the man thing. I did that, I need to move on in life. That’s another part of being true to yourself… that’s been a challenge for me personally.” She added, “I think [accepting being homosexual] that was an ongoing process from the time I was about 12. I had a lot of things happen that convinced me that God was punishing me for being gay. That was a hard process.”

McGillis divorced her husband, with which she has children in 2002. The actress has repeatedly denied rumors about her being gay until now.
