A new South African reality based show titled, “Porn Star” will air the country’s search for the best adult film star. “Porn Star” comes by way of Tongelong Productions where contestants compete (meaning: have sex) in public at the annual Sexpo Exhibitions in Durban and Johannesburg in August and October of this year.

A mainstream Captain Picard look-alike will lead the cast on their voyage through space.

A solid attempt at discussing the reality behind the black-on-black porn industry. I applaud the author, Lawrence C. Ross Jr., for writing about this racy subject, and while it’s an entertaining read, there are many things that are missing.

Rarely, if at all, does this book discuss interracial pornography, where black male actors and non-black actresses collide. The only time interracial sexuality is discusses is when it pertains to white male actors and black female directors, which turns out to be a huge disgust.

We get to read about a series of black women who perform on camera with white men, which includes excessive degradation, men dressed as the Klu Klux Klan, acting out rape fantasies on black women, etc. Many black actresses are interviewed, including Victoria Allure and Diana Devoe, and most of them have one thing in common. That is their refusal to perform scenes with Caucasian men.

They feel that black men just want to have sex, please their female co-workers, do a great job and make some money. White men, on the other hand, have desires to degrade and overpower the ladies, which includes spitting, physical “abuse” and so forth.

According to them, black men in the industry have no interest in getting rough and hyper-aggressive with the ladies. This is what makes pornographers Jake Malone (who’s not mentioned here) and Rocco Siffredi pioneers, for those who enjoy sexual violence and themes of domination in their pornography.

Even with this, the women are the ones that determine what acts they will and will not have performed on them, by their own admission, whether it involves money or not. We also know that the women are the main stars in this industry, instead of men. The only men who are considered the real players in this industry are Lexington Steele, Rocco Siffredi, Justin Slayer, Manuel Ferrara, etc. Otherwise, the male isn’t celebrated as much as the female is (which is similar to the modeling industry).

Porn stars and directors aren’t the only people interviewed for Money Shot. Sex therapists, escorts and a very few who participate in the swingers lifestyle are also interviewed. Almost everything is exposed, from the industry to why a certain group of African-American women try desexualizing and neutering themselves, thinking that this would make them look more respectable in American society, which is a form of self-hatred and self-sabotage.

However, not every aspect of this is even discussed. Even with that, everyone interviewed strives to promote healthy sexual depictions of black people and women alike, regardless of American society’s ugly contempt for it. In the prologue, the author mentions two groups of people. One group includes people who feel that pornography objectifies and exploits women and minorities alike. Another group feels that is exaggeration and for those who don’t like it should simply not watch it. But they have no right to tell others how to live. Right on!

Interviews are conducted with the likes of Lexington Steele, his ex-fiancee Vanessa Blue, Victoria Allure, Sledge Hammer, Diana Devoe, Mr. Marcus, Sinnamon Love (who appeared on “The Tyra Banks Show”), etc.

We also discover how former stud Darren James caught HIV on the set of a scene, how the porn industry has influenced hip-hop legends, who have made their own pornographic movies (from Snoop Dogg to Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz), R. Kelly’s sex scandal, sexual health and how the female starlets make money by not only starring in adult films, but by having their own websites, showing photos and shows conducted by them.

While Money Shot is an entertaining read, the author never attempted to discuss black gay porn (an interview with Bobby Blake would have been nice) or interracial porn with black men and the non-black women (specifically white women) who are enthused by this and why it’s become so popular worldwide.

The only time the author ever discusses this is when it pertains to a certain group of white men doing degrading scenes with black women, when Lexington Steele briefly discusses sexual boundaries between black women and white women, along with the fact that Susan Reno is mentioned.

Susan Reno is a MILF-y and successful white female who has her own website/business, dedicated to her performing with black men, either individually or in a group (who paved the way for Spring Thomas and Sara Swirls to follow in her footsteps). Susan Reno, however, isn’t interviewed.

Money Shot isn’t a book that’s just about black-on-black porn. It’s about black entrepreneurship and African-Americans finding their piece of the pie in a huge industry, which makes more money than pro-sports and the American movie industry combined and is becoming more internationally accepted.

The adult entertainment industry in America is still dominated by whites, including those who perpetuate racism in the industry and those who have no interest in seeing or promoting black actors and actresses having sex on camera, be it at home, on cable networks or even in hotel rooms. Today, there’s a rising number of black directors and entrepreneurs in the industry, who are profiting from this industry, such as Lexington Steele, B. Pumper, Justin Slayer, etc.

Even with that said, there are many large companies and big-wigs who have no interest in seeing men of color engage in this industry, especially when it comes to interracial sexuality.

Oh the irony … or was it just method acting for Holly Sampson?

Turns out that one of Tiger Woods’ alleged 10 mistresses — porn star Holly Sampson — was well practiced in the art of cheating before her reported involvement with the golf pro: She starred in the adult film Cheating Housewives 6 by SmashPictures.com.

According to one of Holly’s co-stars, an actor who goes simply by the name Christian, Holly “almost always plays the role of mistress and is the one who does the cheating.”

So what kind of woman does Tiger go for? If he really dated Holly, he’s got good taste, says Christian. “She’s very friendly and takes care of herself,” the porn star tells HollywoodLife exclusively. “[She] always has her hair done and is very well groomed — nails, toes, everything. She’s striking in terms of how she looks and comes across as very beautiful, but she’s also just a cool chick.”

Though Holly never mentioned Tiger directly, she did say she was married at one point and, according to Christian, “was always dating people. She even had a guy’s name tattooed on the back of her neck.”

Unlike some of the golfer’s other alleged mistresses — some of whom have cashed in by selling their stories — Holly has yet to speak out about her rumored affair. And although she hasn’t directly benefited from the affair, her name is definitely bringing in the bucks for one party.

The production company behind Cheating Housewives 6, Smash Pictures, got a surge in orders for Holly’s Cheating film early Monday, just after the news broke of her alleged affair.

“Sales have been crazy,” Stuart Wall, vice president of Smash Pictures, tells HollywoodLife. “I’ve sold about 500 copies this morning alone. Everyone is curious to see a celebrity mistress, someone who in real life was apparently with Tiger Woods, in action.”

Cheating Housewives #6 has earned an AVN Award Nomination for Best Milf Release.

At least someone’s a winner in this whole mess.
