MSNBC is reporting that Verne Troyer’s legal team is seeking additional protection against the release of his now-infamous sex tape while they negotiate with a porn broker and distributor.

U.S. District Judge Philip S. Gutierrez granted both sides another week on Friday to negotiate before holding a hearing on whether the tape can be sold or released. He also extended a temporary restraining order barring SugarDVD from selling or taking orders for the tape. Troyer’s attorney, Tracy Rane, added that details of the negotiations are private, but that Verne still doesn’t want the tape distributed further.

The estate of rock and roll legend Jimi Hendrix has flunked a challenge to prove that a controversial video depicting him in a sexual escapade with two women is not really him, according to Vivid Entertainment, which released the DVD in May.

Vivid co-chairman Steven Hirsch said his offer of $100,000 to Experience Hendrix, LLC (”Experience Hendrix”) expired after 60 days because the company of the legendary guitarist failed to offer verifiable proof that Hendrix is not the “star” of “Jimi Hendrix The Sex Tape.”

Vivid had offered the money after Experience Hendrix – which is owned by his heirs - publicly denied the tape actually showed Hendrix having sex with two unidentified brunettes.

Mr. Hirsch said:  “In early May we made a good faith offer through our attorneys to pay $100,000 to Experience Hendrix if it could offer proof within 60 days that our tape was not authentic. We always knew it was real and were confident that the Hendrix heirs would be unable to substantiate their claims.”

Several experts on the music scene of the 60s have supported Vivid’s claim that the tape depicts the late rock ‘n roll icon having sex with the women.

“I’m positive that we are viewing the real Jimi Hendrix,” said Neville Chesters, road manager for Hendrix in the late 60s.

“No one can pay me any amount of money to say I saw something I didn’t see and judging from having casted Jimi I’m convinced that he is indeed the man seen in this film,” said Cynthia (Plaster Caster) Albritton, one of the experts who authenticated the footage and, who once held Hendrix’ penis in her hands while she made a plaster cast of it.

Ranae Shrider, the woman featured in the Verne Troyer sex movie says that she gave permission to TMZ to air portions of the now infamous tape.

According to a story posted on Adultfyi.com, Shrider signed a declaration filed in federal court in Los Angeles stating the tape was created with her video camera. Because of this statement by Shrider, who is Troyer’s ex-girlfriend, a judge has granted permission to TMZ to repost small portions of the tape on TMZ.com.

The aspiring model says that she believes she is the rightful owner of the tape, and has thus far only given TMZ the right to air any of it. It has been Troyer’s position that the tape was stolen. Troyer has been trying to stop the posting of the tape, as well as any further distribution of it. Though the footage remains available for view on TMZ.com, the judge has still barred a porn distributor named in a $20 million lawsuit filed by Troyer from distributing the tape.

Not even 24 hours after TMZ.com posted a story about the sex tape starring Verne Troyer along with a clip of the actual tape, Troyer has filed suit against the celebrity news site claiming that posting the clip violated his rights.

The story, as posted on TMZ.com says that Troyer has filed a $20 million lawsuit charging that, “TMZ violated his privacy rights and infringed on his copyright and trademark by running portions of the tape on TMZ TV and TMZ.com. He also alleges TMZ violated his right of publicity and misappropriated his name and likeness.” Along with the monetary compensation, Troyer’s legal team also filed an injunction seeking to prohibit and further displaying or other dissemination of the sex tape.

The sex tape features the actor, who portrayed the “Mini Me” character in the Austin Powers movie franchise, and his then girlfriend Ranae Shrider, a 22-year-old aspiring model, engaging in a sexual encounter. According to the TMZ.com story, Troyer claims that the tape was stolen. It is being reported that the tape has found it’s way into the hands of Kevin Blatt, who was the man behind the distribution of the Paris Hilton sex tape, and that Blatt is working on a deal to distribute the Troyer tape. Kevin Blatt is also named as a defendant in the Troyer lawsuit.

As a Hollywood actor, Sonny Landham played hard-ass roles in action films such as Predator (1987) and 48 Hours (1982), where he was “Billy Bear.” These days Landham has his sites set on a much tougher role; He wants to be a US senator.

Landham’s dream to run for the senate in Kentucky has him collecting signatures to get on the ballot as the Libertarian Party candidate. The former actor was born and raised in Georgia and later moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. The 67-year-old aspiring politician now lives in northeastern Kentucky. His hope is to receive the 5,000 signatures necessary to get on the ballot so he can challenge Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Election Day this coming November.

Analysts and others who are familiar with the political climate in Kentucky see Landham as a major longshot as a candidate for the senate in a state that is widely recognized as being socially conservative. Part of the struggle Landham faces comes from the fact that there are things in his past that might hurt his candidacy, such as the fact that he spent more than two years in prison after being convicted of making obscene and threatening phone calls to his ex-wife. However, the conviction was later reversed after a federal appeals court determined his innocence.

There’s also the matter of Landham having starred in a number of XXX movies early in his acting career. Landham expressed that he regrets having performed in porn, and explained that he only did it as a way of supporting himself until his career in mainstream movies took off.

Sonny Landham has dabbled in politics before. He expressed plans to run for governor as the Republican candidate in 2003. He later talked of plans for an independent run, but he never officially entered the race.

Landham has until August 12 to get the required signatures for his senate bid.

Just when you thought it was safe to watch porn again, a sex tape starring Verne Troyer has surfaced.

Celebrity news site, TMZ.com has posted a story about the actor, who is best known for portraying the Mini-Me character in the Austin Powers movie series shot a tape of himself and an ex-lover having sex in their apartment.

The TMZ.com story goes on to say that the tape had fallen into the hands of a third party, and that Kevin Blatt, the man who brokered the deal for the One Night In Paris tape, is entertaining a deal from SugarDVD for $100,000 to distribute the Troyer sex tape.

Troyer’s list of screen credits also include being a celebrity spokesperson in a Geico auto insurance commercial, being a cast member on season four of the VH1 Celeb-reality show “The Surreal Life” and most recently he is featured in Mike Myers’ latest movie, The Love Guru.

Five jurors who met with the press after the R. Kelly trial admitted that they “absolutely believed” that it was the famed R&B artist on the tape that allegedly showed an adult male having sex with an underage girl, according to a story posted on TMZ.com. However, the jurors felt as though they could not reach a guilty verdict because they believed there was “not enough evidence to prosecute.”

The version of the tape that was played in court was a lot clearer than the somewhat distorted version that was making the rounds on the internet, thus making it easier to tell if it was actually R. Kelly engaging in the sex acts on the tape. The jurors said they were “absolutely disgusted” by what they saw on tape, but stated that the fact that the alleged victim did not cooperate with the prosecution and did not testify at the trial played a big part in their reaching the not guilty verdict.

A story reported on AVN.com states that Amy Fisher Caught On Tape will make its online debut tonight on ImLive.com’s celebrity channel at 10 pm EDT. According to UK gossip site Digital Spy, Spanish glamour model and aspiring singer Rebecca Loos has claimed that she was offered a six-figure deal to make her own sex tape. The reality TV star and one-time personal assistant to David Beckham has been rumored to have had a fling with the international soccer superstar.
