Producer, director and screenwriter Zalman King, whose credits include erotically-charged films such as 9 1/2 Weeks, Red Shoe Diaries and Wild Orchid, died Friday morning at his Santa Monica home following a six-year battle with cancer. King, whose wife Patricia Louisianna Knop, was at his side at the time of his death, was 70.

Born Zalman Lefkovitz in 1942 in Trenton, N.J., King began his career as an actor in the 1960s. He and wife, Patricia Louisianna Knop, collaborated on the screenplay for 9 1/2 Weeks, which became a cult hit starring Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke.

King’s other credits include Wild Orchid and Two Moon Junction,  which he wrote and directed.

King was primarily known for his racy fare of the ’80s and ’90s, though his son-in-law, Allison Burnett, told TheWrap that his reputation failed to capture the totality of King’s personality.

“Zalman was a far more complex and human artist and man than anyone who only knew him from afar can possibly comprehend,” Burnett told TheWrap. “He was a truly magnificent human being.”

In his later career, King focused on documentaries about musicians, directing films about country singers Willie Nelson and Dale Watson, and musician Toledo Diamond. Burnett told TheWrap that he also directed music videos for rap groups, typically free of charge.

“He loved to support artists everywhere he went,” Burnett said.

Actor Charlie Sheen, a longtime friend of King’s offered tribute to the director on his Facebook page Friday.

“The world lost a brilliant and noble soul today,” Sheen wrote.

“My dear friend of 40 years, Zalman King, just lost his battle with cancer. Fought like a recon Marine til the bitter end. Say a prayer for his amazing wife Pat and their lovely daughters. Safe travels my friend.”

King is survived by his wife and their two daughters, screenwriter Chloe King and designer and painter Gillian Lefkovitz.

Adult star and Charlie Sheen “goddess,” Bree Olson is quitting porn — this time for good.

Although she announced to TMZ last October that she was done with the adult world, the star has since signed on to co-host the AVN Awards show this Saturday night and is signing for fans at the AEE Expo.

But in an interview with the Las Vegas Sun’s Robin Leach, Bree said her departure was a bit abrupt and she wants to take this last chance to say goodbye.

Olson told Leach it’s her way of saying thank you to her fellow actors, actresses and filmmakers.

“This is a great way for me to say thank you and farewell. I’m trying to transition into mainstream and just trying to evolve my acting career. I don’t have anything against the adult career at all. I have nothing bad to say about it at all, or else I wouldn’t be hosting, but now I want to completely focus on one thing, and I just feel that chapter of my life is over. I’m 25 now. Porn was something I did when I was young and just having fun. I’m evolving as a person,” she said.

When asked if crossing over into mainstream will be tough, Olson admitted she really wasn’t sure, revealing that some little-known adult performers made it without fanfare and stressed that she didn’t consciously use porn as a steppingstone.

“It’s already been difficult, but now the reactions are different. In adult, everything was handed to me because once the name ‘Bree Olson’ was established, I automatically got jobs — I didn’t have to go for ‘auditions.’ I just automatically got everything, which is why I was able to stay home in Indiana, fly to L.A., work two weeks, fly back home, go back out there, back and forth.

“There was nothing to think about. Mainstream is obviously a lot more work. I have to go out and dedicate myself full time to it, but I love the challenge. I’m ready for something like that…I’m ready to work toward challenges again — it’s nice to have a goal.”

Olson said she has an agent and is moving to L.A. from her home in Indiana full time to get “closer to Hollywood,” in order to seriously pursue her acting career.

A raunchy tweet from adult star Vicky Vette mistakenly landed on a CNN news report on Dec. 21 during a report about the recent payroll tax crisis facing America.

Humor website Funny or Die.com reported about the snafu where CNN showed how the White House was using Twitter hashtags to drive home the point that average Americans would miss the $40 in their paychecks if the payroll tax compromise was not reached.

During an interview and exchange with Republican Congressman Fred Upton from Michigan, the CNN anchor mentioned that the White House had asked in its tweet, “What does #40dollars mean to you?”

While rolling footage of Twitter pages on air, Vette’s tweet appeared asking that if all of her followers gave her “#40dollars” she would give them all oral sex.

Vette said Funny or Die ran the story on its front page for a number of days making it was one of the most popular tweets on Twitter and was scored as funny by 92 percent of the website’s viewers.

Vette said, “You can’t plan stuff like that. I fool around with hashtags on Twitter to keep it fun for followers. To end up on CNN and FunnyorDie is pretty cool. I’m just relieved that people who read the Funny or Die piece thought it was funny too.

She added, “ It would have sucked if they had voted to ‘Die.’ I guess all my followers were in on the #40dollars joke… I have yet to get $40 from anyone even though the payroll tax deal was reached. Let’s face it, the chances of me being on CNN unless I have sex with Charlie Sheen or run for governor are zero… so I’ll take it… he he. I’m just bummed my mother watches Fox News… she missed it.”

On September 19, actors, famous comedians, and even sports figures will relish in Charlie Sheen’s famed intense antics in “Comedy Central’s The Roast of Charlie Sheen.” With “Family Guy” creator, Seth MacFarlane as the Master Roaster and Slash to spew a few friendly spats—there is one person who is not allowed to share in Sheen’s misery: Porn star, Capri Anderson, whom was hoping to a be a fellow roaster.

The now infamous October 2010 incident where Anderson claimed she was locked in a a bathroom at the Plaza Hotel’s Eloise Suite while Sheen became violent, allegedly spurred Sheen’s media fueled downward spiral. After almost of a year of heated he said/she said allegations of what happened that night in autumn, Anderson sued the “Two and a Half Men” star. Sheen counter sued, and according to the actor—Anderson stole his Patek Phillippe watch that was worth over six figures.

Now, insiders on the show are saying that with the ongoing messy legal battles, Anderson may hold a grudge against Sheen and may cause a bitter ruckus rather than that of pure fun and entertainment.

The Vivid Entertainment contract starlet is not the only one of Sheen’s ladies who will not roast the actor. His ex wives, actress, Denise Richards, and Brooke Mueller also turned down the offer to put their former love on the spot since they all seem to get along, and don’t want to return to shaky ground. Although, there is room for a surprise roaster.

Adult stars Bree Olson and Sunny Leone have been tapped to co-host the 2012 AVN Awards taking place at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Jan. 21, 2012.

Both mega-stars were overjoyed when they got the call.

“Hosting the AVN Awards is something that every girl in the industry wishes they could do,” Leone told AVN. “It’s the biggest event of the year for every performer, the most high profile. I’m definitely up for the challenge. I’ll be in front of my peers, friends and people I’ve known for close to ten years now. I think that will make it easier for me. I’m honored and truly beyond excited.”

Olson, who became a media sensation this year after her stint as one of actor Charlie Sheen’s live-in goddesses, told AVN that her experience on tour with Sheen during his Violent Torpedo of Truth series of live performances prepared her for this hosting gig.

“This whole year has been unexpected for me; it’s been quite a year,” Olson said. “The AVN Awards is the biggest night for the industry and, really, everyone, even those who don’t watch porn, know about the AVN Awards. This is just awesome.”

Olson, the 2008 AVN “Best New Starlet,” entered the business in 2006 and immediately began her meteoric rise as the “go to” box cover girl known for her intense sexual performances. The blond from Fort Wayne, Ind. was a contract girl for Adam & Eve from 2007-2010.

Post Adam & Eve, Olson returned to her freelance gonzo roots to star in numerous videos for Bang Productions, Brazzers, Jules Jordan Video, X-Play and Twistys. Currently Olson films exclusive hardcore content for her official site, BreeOlson.com and is relocating to Los Angeles to pursue a career in mainstream entertainment. She’s appeared in countless men’s magazines and recently was featured on the covers of both Penthouse and Playboy.

She’s also starred mainstream action adventure movie Pirates Blood, which was shot in Oman in 2008.

“I’ve been in the industry for so long and this is something every single year I go and watch. This will be my tenth AVN Awards,” Leone said. “I was so excited when I was asked to present, but to actually be on stage hosting is just unreal—surreal—I just can’t wait. It’s not real yet. I can’t stop thinking about what I’m going to wear.”

While the pair has never worked together in front of the camera, both are completely enthused to get more intimately acquainted.

“To know that I’m hosting with Bree is incredible,” Leone said. “She’s so beautiful and nice. I think we’ll be a great pair together.”

Olson said that she met Leone during an industry event in Florida and believes the two will make a perfect pair.

“I’m so excited to work with Sunny,” Olson said. “She’s just gorgeous and the sweetest little thing. She’s totally my type; I love brunettes. She’s just stunning, drop dead gorgeous. I can’t say enough about her. Oh boy, I’m already getting excited!”

On Friday, Charlie Sheen dropped the extortion lawsuit he had against porn star and Vivid Girl, Capri Anderson, after he claimed she was extorting him for money after their infamous Plaza Hotel rendezvous.

“She’s [Anderson] pleased this litigation is over. She’s moved on with her life and other endeavors,” her lawyer, Keith Davidson said.

Last April, Anderson claimed that she never received a copy of the lawsuit and dared the former “Two and a Half Men” star to serve her while feature dancing at a Long Island strip club.

Capri Anderson is now the newest Vivid Girl and Charlie Sheen will star in a sitcom called Anger Management, starting soon.

Newest SuperXXXHeroes Parody Is Directed By Axel Braun

Multi-award-winning director Axel Braun’s latest SuperXXXHeroes movie Spider-Man XXX: A Porn Parody will debut online on vivid.com on Monday, July 25 and will be in stores across the country on Wednesday, August 3rd. The movie stars Vivid Girl Capri Anderson (she of Charlie Sheen’s hotel escapade fame) as Mary-Jane, and XRCO “Best New Stud” Xander Corvus in the title role.

As a special bonus, an original, 8-page, 4-color, XXX comic book will be inside each DVD with a story that is the prequel to the movie. The comic book was illustrated by Matt*Core. Core is an acclaimed Italian artist, revered for his work on the science fiction comic book “Nathan Never,” published in Italy since 1991.

In Spider-Man XXX: A Porn Parody our hero gets caught up in a web of sexual intrigue, while trying to save the city from the evil menace of Electro and The Kingpin. Will he finally choose between Gwen and Mary-Jane? Can he manage to resist the charm of The Black Widow?

“This is by far the best superhero movie I’ve ever made” said Braun. “I used parts of the original movie to poke fun at it, but added original material that allowed me to represent my own version of the characters, geared toward the adult comic book market. The result is a very personal movie, with plenty of laughs, sex, and entertainment, but also with a little more depth than your average porn flick. And Xander is a better Spider-man than Andrew Garfield, if you ask me.”
