“L.A.’s favorites!” That’s exactly what the broadcasters at KCAL 9 News dubbed the Wicked Girls after visiting the 12th Annual EROTICA L.A. Convention this weekend, and it’s easy to see why…

Contract beauties Stormy Daniels, jessica drake, Kaylani Lei, Mikayla Mendez, and actor/director Randy Spears were in the media spotlight constantly, both at the convention and the several charity, publicity, and awards events that happened over ELA weekend.

Each day saw the Wicked stars participating in a number of live events. On Friday, jessica drake and Brad Armstrong participated in The World’s Sexiest Vow Renewal Ceremony, while Stormy Daniels spoke on the well-received panel Porn Star FAQ: Everything You Always Wanted To Know But Were Afraid To Ask (sponsored by Genesis Magazine). The Wicked booth received prominent coverage on the Friday evening news - in addition to KCAL, television crews from such respected Los Angeles media outlets as KTLA (CW), KTTV (FOX), KCOP (IND), and many more interviewed the company’s contract beauties.

Saturday found Randy Spears hosting the F.A.M.E. Awards with Jesse Jane. For Wicked, other F.A.M.E. highlights included Stormy winning a much-deserved Favorite Director statue to rapturous applause, and jessica and Brad unveiling the trailer for their upcoming fantasy thriller Fallen. To keep the excitement rolling, jessica, Kaylani and Mikayla grabbed the VIP spotlight as they made headline appearances at the official Erotica LA After Party at Crash Mansion, and jessica capped the evening off by wrapping up her spectacular weekend of feature dancing at the downtown Spearmint Rhino!

Sunday saw the action continuing in high gear as jessica and Brad joined Kaylani Lei at retired NFL baller Marcus Allen’s Celebrity Invitational Poker Tournament at Lucky Strike in Hollywood. This exclusive affair found the Wicked ladies making the scene in style, posing for photos with everyone from actors Dennis Haysbert and Ian Ziering to legendary athlete Barry Bonds. Brad and jessica finally called it a night by making special appearances at the Urban Spice Awards, where Wicked’s Mark Stone-directed Minority Rules won Best Two-Way Sex Scene.

With highlights like these, it’s easy to understand KCAL’s enthusiasm - from the red carpet to the convention floor, from the stage to the screen, the Wicked Girls really are “L.A.’s favorites!”

The Biggest Stars in Adult Aligned to Light Up the Night for the Industry’s Only Fan-Based Awards Show

The fans have spoken! And on Saturday, June 7, a star-studded who’s who of adult entertainment got to hear what they said at the 2008 F.A.M.E. (Fans of Adult Media & Entertainment) Awards.

Following a packed red carpet, adult superstars Jesse Jane and Randy Spears hosted the third annual event. The blonde Digital Playground superstar and the Wicked Pictures legend worked like a dynamic duo, keeping things moving and entertaining the crowd. Jesse’s energy and Randy’s delivery helped usher in a list of presenters that included Tera Patrick, Stormy Daniels, Belladonna, Sasha Grey, Evan Stone, Ron Jeremy, Michelle Maylene, Evan Seinfeld, Amber Lynn, Nick Manning, Nicki Hunter, Tommy Gunn and more announced read off the names of the nominees and winners to a very receptive crowd.

This year’s F.A.M.E. Awards received over 104,000 online votes at their official website, www.TheFAMEAwards.com. “This is the only truly interactive adult awards event that exists,” explains F.A.M.E. co-founder Dan Davis, Editor in Chief of Genesis Magazine. “Ultimately, the fans are the ones who buy the product and determine the next big ‘it’ girl or niche. The F.A.M.E. Awards recognize that and provide a forum — from choosing finalists to selecting winners — as a way of honoring that.”

With a number of surprise guests, including mainstream movie stars Jamie Kennedy (Malibu’s Most Wanted) and Matthew Davis (Legally Blonde) who filmed a segment for their upcoming independent film Finding Bliss (which also stars Leelee Sobieski, Kristen Johnson and Denise Richards) on the F.A.M.E. red carpet, with Stormy Daniels, Ron Jeremy, Jesse Jane, Evan Stone, Mr. Marcus, Sasha Grey, Belladonna, Wankus and others, this year’s awards show reached record attendance. The stars and industry VIPs packed the seats and hundreds of fans and representatives of the media stood around them to witness a show that was indeed bigger and better as it was billed.

The list of those who were in attendance was a virtual a roll call of the adult industry. The stars who were there also included Tera Patrick, Jessica Drake, Jenna Haze, Eva Angelina, Gina Lynn, Stoya, Shay Jordan, Bobbi Starr, Sunny Leone, Tory Lane, Ashlynn Brooke, Nina Mercedez, Taylor Wane, Justine Joli, Monica Mayhem, Sunny Lane, Joanna Angel, Ava Rose, Marie Luv, Tory Lane, Jenna Haze, Kayden Kross, Ava Rose, and many more, including the first public appearances for new Digital Playground contract girls Riley Steele and Gabriella Fox . Those behind the cameras were also on hand, such as director/producers Jules Jordan, Will Ryder, Cousin Stevie, Eli Cross, Brad Armstrong and Lexington Steele, as well as others who make the adult world go ’round such as AVN’s Paul Fishbein, Vivid’s Steve Hirsch, Wicked’s Steve Orenstein, Digital Playground’s Samantha Lewis, Hustler’s Michael Klein and many more.

One of the new twists to this year’s show was the introduction of the “Fan’s First Look” which is where some of the biggest producers unveiled their trailers for their upcoming blockbusters. Brad Armstrong and Jessica Drake their latest epic Fallen, Jesse Jane gave the Erotica LA crowd a peek at Pirates II, while Tera Patrick and Evan Seinfeld introduced their upcoming all-sex comedy, Tera Goes Gonzo. Also being shown for the first time were trailers for Vivid’s Cry Wolf starring Mr. Marcus and Monique Alexander; Eli Cross’ slick show for SexZ Pictures entitled ICON, starring Hillary Scott; Will Ryder and X-Play’s surefire hit parody, Not Bewitched XXX which stars Jenna Haze and Teagan Presley; and the Adam & Eve/Zero Tolerance co-production on skates, Roller Dollz. All of these movies will be in under consideration for the 2009 F.A.M.E. Awards.

Paul Fishbein and Michelle Maylene presented Vivid’s Steve Hirsch with a special AVN Award for “Best Renting Title of the Year” for Debbie Does Dallas… Again, as a camera crew captured the action for the second season of Vivid’s reality show. Hirsch reminded everyone why we were all there, and that is to support the world of adult films.

From the first award given out to Ashlynn Brooke for “Favorite Breasts” as voted on by the fans, to the last for their “Favorite Male Star” and “Favorite Female Star” — Evan Stone and Tera Patrick, who also received a Movado watch with a blue diamond and a Tiffany’s pearl necklace — the night was filled with appreciative speeches, lots of fun and laughs, and even some tears of joy from the winners.

Davis summed things up by saying, “We want to thank all of the stars, studios and media who continue to support this huge undertaking every year. Tera Patrick’s 2008 Erotica LA experience couldn’t have gone any better if she wrote the script herself. For three days, fans packed the Los Angeles Convention Center for the biggest adult convention of the summer. Fans lined up at the Teravision booth to get close to the amazing lineup of talent. Sasha Grey and Sunny Leone delighted fans who showed up for photos and autographs. The longest lines were for Tera herself and she loved every minute of it.

“I love meeting my fans,” said Tera. “Their support for me over the years has meant everything to me and I love it when I have a chance to give something back to them.”

Fan support helped turn the 2008 FAME Awards into a pure gold for both Tera and Teravision. The fan-based voting named “InTERActive” as Favorite Gonzo movie and Tera walked away with the most coveted prize of the evening, Favorite Female Starlet. This was a second consecutive win for Tera in this coveted category.

“I couldn’t believe it,” stated an elated Tera. “After winning Favorite Female Starlet last year I didn’t think it could get much better. Two in a row is really special, especially since this is an award voted on completely by the fans. I thank them for this honor. I also want to publicly thank my extended family at Team Teravision! Everyone who works so tirelessly to keep us up on top, thank you. I could not do it without you guys.”

It is no surprise that Tera is so popular with fans. She is everywhere these days and just getting busier all the time. Tera’s popularity has spread far beyond the world of adult entertainment. She currently graces the cover of High Times Magazine. The publication has named Tera as their 2008 Ganja Goddess, an honor she is proud to accept.

On a night that showcased the adult industry’s top talent and allowed fans to get up close and personal, Digital Playground once again outshined the rest, and took home two awards from the 2008 F.A.M.E. (Fans of Adult Media and Entertainment) Awards show. Digital Playground contract star Jesse Jane® won the award for “Hottest Body” and the Robby D. blockbuster film “Babysitters” won for “Favorite Feature Movie”. The evening also featured the glamorous Jesse Jane as the show’s host, and the public debuts of beautiful new contract stars Gabriella Fox(TM) and Riley Steele(TM).

Throughout the show, Jesse was able to transition smoothly between her hosting responsibilities and graciously accepting her awards. Today was mostly bedlam. From the time I got up, until the time I’m typing this, it was nuts and it’s not over yet.

I got to the show at about 12:30 and right away was rounding up some people to do a quick interview on Playboy Radio on Sirius. Randy Spears, our F.A.M.E. host, Nina Mercedez (one of the finalists for Favorite Breasts) and I were interviewed by Christy Canyon and Vanessa Blue. We spoke about how the F.A.M.E. awards came about, what we do, etc. I also did a couple of other quick talks with some other media who stopped by the booth.

Speaking of the booth, we were joined once again by Ava, Bree and Kayden. Gianna Lynn and Brooke Haven also stopped by to sign. A few other stars dropped by as well, most just to pick up VIP passes for the show, but there was one in particular who I will go into later who had to be one of the most interestingly obnoxious people I have ever encountered in this business. More on that another time.

We spent most of the day getting the final preps on the show done, getting the stars their passes and on the guest list and just making sure we were set for the evening.

The Red Carpet went great. Jamie Kennedy and Matthew Davis (no relation) shot a movie sequence for an upcoming film, Finding Bliss, that sounds like a great movie. Moz and Monstar did a great job with the carpet and in general with everything this weekend and we can’t thank them enough for all of their hard work.

The show itself was our smoothest and best yet. There were some hiccups like any live event will have, and also a few surprises, but all in all we think we gave the fans in attendance a great show, and the stars that were there — all 100 or so of them — seemed to have a good time as well, and that’s what matters in the end. See the next post for the full list of winners, and it’s off to finally relax a little now that it’s done and get ready to fly back east manana.

Even though yesterday was slated to be one of the shorter days of Erotica LA, it was definitely a long one. The show was crowded with fans, and there were lots of stars on hand to meet them. We were lucky enough to get there EARLY and set up the F.A.M.E. booth and have a little production meeting about the F.A.M.E. Awards. That’s set to happen tonight (Saturday) at 9pm with a Red Carpet at 7:30 that will have some surprise guests.

Yesterday I got to see a bunch of people I don’t get to spend time with that much because of our geographical differences, so that was cool. I only got bitched at 4 times by a star (names withheld) where she was placed on the Hot 100, and two stars who I hadn’t heard from yet were even nice enough to thank me (Alexis Amore and Moxxie Maddron) for including them.

The day was pretty uneventful with no major drama, fun stories or general meltdowns. Adam & Eve contract stars Bree Olson, Kayden Koss and Ava Rose, and the always-lovely Gianna Lynn signed at the F.A.M.E. booth for most of the evening. Thanks to Monstar, Leslie, Katy, Anh, Dusty and Danny for helping out over there. But generally speaking, it was the calm before the storm that will be today and tonight with F.A.M.E.

Yesterday was just a good day (despite the toe pain) seeing friends like Tera and Evan, Taylor Wane, Belladonna and Aiden, Karen Stagliano, Sasha Grey, Bree, Kayden and Ava, Gina Lynn and Travis, Joanna Angel, Jenna Haze and Jules, Stormy, Moz, Evan Stone, Ray and Nina Mercedez and lots of others I’m leaving out.

The highlight of the day was moderating our panel, “Everything you wanted to know about porn” which was definitely our most star-studded one yet. Holly Randall, Bree Olson, Sasha Grey, Penny Flame, Stormy, Tera, Evan Seinfeld and Evan Stone kept the crowd entertained for over an hour answering their questions, telling stories from the world of porn and all that comes with being porn stars (and great photographers). Pretty much everyone up there was not only informative and thoroughly professional, but it was great for anyone who is a fan of XXX to see how these people truly are and that’s intelligent, well-spoken, friendly and funny as fuck. Thanks to all of them for taking time at the end of a long day to do this. It was definitely great.

If you’re in the L.A. area, make sure to come down to the show tonight. It’s going to be great. I’ll be hitting Playboy Radio on Sirius at some point today with a couple of stars to talk about F.A.M.E., so it’s time to get ready and head down to the convention center, so let the madness begin.

(Fans of Adult Media and Entertainment) Awards are pleased to announce that their Internet voting system has recorded more than 103,000 ballots for the second straight year as fans flooded www.thefameawards.com to choose their favorite adult stars, movies, directors and companies. The winners will be announced at a star-studded live event set for 9 p.m., this Saturday, June 7, on the main stage at Erotica LA. Once again, the F.A.M.E. Awards were created in 2006 by executive sponsors and show creators Genesis Magazine (www.genesismagazine.com), Adam & Eve (www.adameve.com), WantedList.com and AVN.com as a way for fans to honor their favorite adult film stars, directors, movies and companies. It is the first show where the fans take part in the entire process -from choosing the finalists to ultimately selecting the winners in over a dozen categories. The 2008 F.A.M.E. Awards are co-sponsored by MyCams.com, RudeTV.com, HotMovies.com, PinkVisual.com and Erotica LA.

This weekend is starting off with a bang.

I got into town late yesterday afternoon and after a day of dealing with delayed airport departures, flying on American Airlines’ first-ever commissioned jet, cramming 6′5″ into a seat made for Verne Troyer for 5 plus hours, waiting 40 minutes on the LAX tarmac for a gate, waiting another 40 minutes for the Hertz shuttle to get my car as even Joe’s Penny-a-Day rental shuttles passed by at least 6 times, not getting that Hertz Gold Club service you hear so much about at the rental facility and (deep breath from this run-on sentence) this wonderful Los Angeles freeway traffic, finally checked into the hotel late afternoon.

There I was met by a deluge of emails, calls to return, etc. and before I knew I had to get all perty for a dinner meeting with Katie from MyCams, our VP, Anh from WantedList and our Genesis/SwankDollars webmasters Raja and Laurel. We caught the end of the Lakers/Celtics game (sorry Laker fans… I too hate mostly all things Beantown).

Right before we left for the little soirée, I did a quick phoner interview with my old friend Wankus over at RudeTV about the Hot 100 and F.A.M.E. show. It’s good to hear that cat back on the air. Some love him and some hate him, but he’s good at what he does and RudeTV is what KSEX should’ve been and then some.

We got the bar/restaurant and had some grub (who would ever think bleu cheese fries were good with a steak) and finally tucked myself in after midnight which already had me up for 22 hours considering my time difference on the east coast.

I was dreaming of an award show weekend at Erotica LA without anyone bitching where they ended up on Porn’s Hot 100, or how they deserved the F.A.M.E. Award more than Lori LabiaXXX, or where they sat, etc., etc., when I was interrupted by my phone ringing at 5:44 in the morning by one of my art directors back at the office asking me where something was. Of course, now I was up, had to take a leak and walking back in the still dark room, cracked my fuckin’ toe on the hip and trendy platform bed at my hip and trendy downtown hotel. It’s throbbing as I type this and I have a weekend of walking and standing on it to look forward to. Joy of fucking joys.

What else is there to look forward to? On the positive side, well, the 2008 F.A.M.E. Awards are going to be amazing. We’ll give you a preview later. I get to see a lot of friends in the biz that living in the east doesn’t allow, so that’s good. I get some work accomplished and set up lots of shoots and promos and articles that will keep our readers entertained over the year. And hopefully I get to meet some new people. That’s always a good time.

So while this little trip has started out like a hemorrhoid on the ass of Murphy of Murphy’s Law fame, the eternal optimist in me says brighter days are ahead… Oh, and I’m allergic to Southern California smog I think.

The 2008 F.A.M.E. (Fans Of Adult Media & Entertainment) Awards will take place on June 7 as part of the three-day Erotica LA Expo at the LA Convention Center. This year’s show will be hosted by Jesse Jane and Randy Spears. Spears, who won the F.A.M.E. Award for Favorite Male Star at last year’s show, is also a finalist for Favorite Male Star honors again in 2008, and Jesse is a finalist in the Favorite Female Starlet and Hottest Body categories.

What sets F.A.M.E. apart from other adult awards shows is that fans decide on the winner of every award, and even some of the categories. The F.A.M.E. voting process begins with pre- nominees in categories such as Favorite Female Rookie, Favorite Oral Starlet, and Dirtiest Girl In Porn. The top vote getters in each category become the finalists, and the slate is then wiped clean and the voting begins again to determine the winner.

Because the fans decide these awards, winning takes on a very special meaning. To win a F.A.M.E. Award means that a performer, product or company has established a true connection and relationship with their audience. To win a F.A.M.E. Award not only means validation on a personal level for a performer, but makes a statement to the rest of the industry that they are a viable and highly marketable entity in the adult entertainment world. Winning a F.A.M.E. Award can turn a star into a superstar, and many take approach it much like a political campaign to help make the fans aware that they are in the running for these honors.

What’s at stake at the F.A.M.E. Awards is not lost of those fortunate enough to be chosen as nominees. Jesse Jane won the Hottest Body Award last year, and knows first-hand what winning an award as voted on by porn fans means to her. “It is very special to win an award chosen by the fans,” Jesse said, “because these people buy your movies, and make you who you are. If it wasn’t for your fans you wouldn’t be anybody.”

Tera Patrick co-hosted the 2007 F.A.M.E. Awards and took home the trophy and a Tiffanys pearl necklace for Favorite Female Starlet. Tera is up for multiple awards again this year, including another nomination in the Favorite Female category. Ms. Patrick has her own take on the differences between F.A.M.E. and other adult awards shows.

“As great as it is to be honored by your peers in award shows like AVN, XRCO, and others, the true test of who is hot and who is not is the fans,” Tera explained. “I just love my fans and I thank them for their support. I will never turn my back on this industry, as it has made me who I am today, and helped me to have an amazing life. I know that I have won awards that I feel someone else may have been better suited to win, and definitely been passed over on lots of awards that I feel I deserved to win. The fans have their own opinions, and I guess the F.A.M.E. Awards can be looked at as the world’s sexiest popularity contest. When hundreds of thousands of people vote, you can’t mess with that!” Tera is referring to the 100,000 plus unique votes that were cast during last year’s awards, and this year is on pace to surpass that record-setting amount. “

Stormy Daniels won for Favorite Breasts in 2007 and 2006. This year she is up for three awards, including Favorite Director and her Wicked comedy epic, Operation Desert Stormy, is up for Favorite Feature Movie. She sees the F.A.M.E. Awards a true barometer of her success as an adult actress. “Fan voting is truly based on what the consumer likes most and wants to see. Winning a fan favorite award is the highest compliment.”

One need to look no further than the websites and other Internet forums to see just how seriously adult stars take these nominations. With F.A.M.E. Awards on the line, many in the industry embark on full-fledged campaigns to drive fans to the F.A.M.E. Awards website and vote for them.

Jenna Haze encourages fans to vote for her in her MySpace blog and her Yahoo fan group is dedicated to getting their favorite adult star the votes needed to win. Courtney Cummz took the 2007 award for Best Anal Starlet, and is a finalist in the same category this year. In an attempt to take back-to-back backdoor honors, Cummz has gone so far as to change the name of her MySpace page to, “Courtney Cummz Vote For Me In The Fame Awards.” Cummz also posted a video on YouTube.com urging her fans to go to the F.A.M.E. website and show their appreciation for her anal prowess.

Digital Playground created their own group on MySpace and Yahoo dedicated to getting votes for their eight nominations for DP contract stars and movies. They’re even doing a contest where the winner can get a phone call from one of their stars. Tommy Gunn’s page opens to a photo of Mr. Gun beneath the F.A.M.E. logo as he asks for your vote in the Favorite Male Star category. You can’t log on to a social networking site this time of the year without seeing bulletins, blogs or user names of stars where they are stumping for votes.

The Internet is a tool that Tera Patrick finds invaluable in her quest to take home the prize on June 7th. “I tell everyone wherever I go to vote for me at the F.A.M.E. Awards. Between my website, Terapatrick.com, and my social networking pages, press and PR teams, as well as our strategic partnerships, we reach a lot of people.”

Belladonna, who also received multiple nominations, has her own philosophy as well. “If anybody knows me, they know that I care about my fans. I would rather receive an award from people who actually buy my product over a panel of people who get paid to watch my movies any day. It’s very important for me to be a finalist because getting awards shows appreciation and it makes me feel grateful for all of the hard work I put into my productions. The only thing I do to help get my fans motivated to vote is to let them know about the voting. And I tell them to do what they think is deserved. I don’t tell them to vote for me in every category, I tell them to vote for the girl they really believe deserves that award.”

Jenna Haze agrees. “The fans are what make us stars! I wouldn’t be here without my amazing fans! So the fan awards are special in that way. Being a finalist in the FAME awards is important to me..I have three awards ceremonies that I am all about—F.A.M.E. for the fans, the XRCO awards (critics), and of course, the AVN awards (critics/fans/friends/industry).”

Aside from campaigning to win votes, adult stars know the best way to win over the fans is to continue making hot and nasty movies. And with keeping their fans satisfied at the top of all these star’s priority lists, we can all look forward to lots of great movies for years to come. So, I guess you could say that the true winners at the F.A.M.E. Awards are the fans themselves.

As the summer sun heats up the Southern California Sky, adult entertainment’s best and brightest gather for the Erotica LA Convention. From June 6-8 all eyes turn to Los Angeles for the largest summer adult expo on US soil.

Tera Patrick will lead a host of lovely ladies to the show this year. She will be in the Teravision booth all three days meeting fans, posing for photos and signing autographs. Joining Tera in the booth with award-winning starlets Sasha Grey and Sunny Leone. Dave Navarro will also be part of the Teravision booth, signing autographs with the girls on Saturday from 5-6 pm. Sasha, the reigning AVN Performer of the Year will be signing copies of Teravision’s huge hit “Broken” as well as her brand new title “Sasha Grey’s Anatomy.”

“We are very proud of Sasha,” said Teravision’s Evan Seinfeld. “Her work in Broken was brilliant. She is exactly what we look for at Teravision, sexy and bold with the perfect mix of class and filth. Her Performer of the Year trophy was well deserved and we are proud to have her associated with Broken, Sasha Grey’s Anatomy and Teravision. We are working on some outstanding projects with Sasha in 2008 and look forward to working with her in the years to come. Tera and I think she is outstanding in every sense of the word.”

The 2008 FAME Awards will be announced during Erotica LA. Tera and Evan will be presenters during the awards and once again Teravision is well represented on the list of finalists. Tera herself is nominated for three individual awards. Fans have put Tera through to the finals as Favorite Breasts, Hottest Body as well as Favorite Female Starlet, an award she won last year. The duo will also premiere the trailer for Tera’s upcoming movie, “Tera Goes Gonzo” as part of the FAME “Fan’s First Look” happening during the awards show.

“I’m honored to be included on the final list for the FAME Awards” says Tera. “Being crowned Favorite Female Starlet last year by the fans was perhaps the most important award I have ever won. These awards are entirely fan based so it means a lot to me. I truly appreciate all of the fans and am proud to be included in the finals.”

Teravision is also well represented at the FAME Awards. Dave Navarro’s “Broken” is a finalist for favorite Feature Movie and Tera’s “InTERActive” is on the list for Favorite Gonzo movie.

In addition to her time in the booth and at the FAME Awards, Tera will be busy after hours during Erotica LA. She will be hosting the biggest party of the summer during Erotica LA and Tera wants to make sure that everyone has a great time. Tera and friends will host a birthday celebration for Zenetti.com’s Eric Ramirez on Saturday June 7^th. The festivities kick off at 11pm and go until 1:30am at East Third in downtown LA.

“This is our industry’s big event for the summer and I want to make sure that the party is the best of the week,” says Tera. “It is the best way I can think of to celebrate such a great event.”

The F.A.M.E. Awards are pleased to announce that RudeTV.com has been chosen as the exclusive broadcast partners for the 2008 show taking place at Erotica LA on Saturday, June 7th.
