I’m reaching my four year anniversary of my porn career and I feel as if throughout my career I’ve experienced a much more unusual lifestyle compared to a civilian working at a bank. For obvious reasons, this is one of the most controversial businesses to work in especially in this day and age and I know I’ve matured differently because of it.
In high school I analyzed Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken”.  It was one of the few poems that I remembered because it is about something which we inevitably face on a consistent basis: the matter of choice. The first stanza describes a fork in the road. The narrator illustrates an indecisive moment where he carefully analyzes each path and weighs out his options. Obviously, this symbolizes decisions we face in our lives.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
In the next stanza, the narrator finally makes a decision and walks slowly down his chosen path. His reasoning for choosing that path was because he felt that it was a less traveled path but came to realize eventually that it was worn “…really about the same.”

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
In the third stanza, the narrator continues to compare his decision and wonder what the outcome would have been had he taken the road that WAS used more frequently. He also “doubted” that it was too late to change his mind and that he cannot take the alternative road and must continue on. We can all relate to those moments in life where we wonder what would have happened had we chosen a different decision, but can only wonder for it is too late to turn back time.
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.
The last stanza has two critical words that are essential to the meaning of the poem: “sigh” and “difference”.  People could misinterpret these words to imply a positive outcome. My high school teacher suggested this poem to be about non-conformity. Her whole interpretation of the poem centers on the idea that usually the right “paths” in life are usually ones that are the hardest to walk.  However, others such as my college English teacher believe this poem isn’t necessarily about nonconformity, but is instead based on the idea that whatever choices we make in life will greatly alter our future. And will have to be the choice that we live with. He suggests the words; “sigh” and “difference”should be left up to interpretation, whether they are good “sighs” of relief or nostalgic “sighs” of regret. The main focus of the poem should be about not being able to take that “alternate route” due to other circumstances or more forks down the road.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Many of us relate to this poem. Sometimes I wonder what would’ve happened had I not decided to be in porn.  For better or worse it is something that I cannot undo. I have a tattoo on my left wrist that symbolizes accepting one’s responsibility. I take full responsibility for the “path” that I chose.  I accept the fact that I cannot trace back my steps in time and choose a different fork in the road.  And that goes for any other decisions, small or big, that I make in my life.  I don’t look back with a regretful “sigh”. The path I have chosen has led me to different “forks”. I learned a long time ago that everything is relative. The cup is either half empty of half full. It doesn’t matter what the circumstances one is faced with. One can always make the best of any situation. And for me, in the end, that will have “made all the difference”.

Here it is a week later and I’m finally done with the EXXXOTICA New York show. I’ve caught my breath, but am still trying to catch up on shit. Nevertheless, I thought I would give my take on how the show went, the behind the scenes happenings, and a few other details on what went down with the show before, during and after.

EXXXOTICA New York was all set to go. We had a superstar line-up that couldn’t be matched, and then the mayor of the host city, Secaucus, got a bug up his ass and all hell broke loose in the media. As you’ve heard, the show was moved about 40 miles south to the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center in Edison (much to that mayor’s chagrin, but he couldn’t legally do shit, so :-P) and the doors opened to some very happy fans.

No one knew what to expect out of the show. Historically, New York/New Jersey based adult shows haven’t had the best track record. The East Coast Video Show that was held in Atlantic City every year died a slow, horrible death. You had a show at the Javits Center in NYC that did okay, but never returned. There was a flea-markety show across from Penn Station in New York that maybe attracted 5,000 people, and t hen the ill-fated East Coast edition of the Exotic Erotic Ball down at the Pier whose attendees could’ve fit in an Outback Steakhouse.  Would this show be better? Would the media attention help? Would the last minute move to Edison hurt? No one knew, but we were all surprised.

From the moment the doors opened to the public, EXXXOTICA New York had non-stop lines coming in.  Of course we are patting ourselves on the back, but we had the greatest stars in the business signing at our booth—Jesse Jane, Stormy Daniels, Bree Olson, Kayden Kross, Gianna Lynn,  Stoya, Sasha Grey, Hillary Scott, Teagan, Sunny Leone, Sunny Lane, Arianna Armani, Moxxie Maddron, Paola Rey, Lexxi Tyler, Penny Flame, Taryn Thomas, Roxy DeVille, Audrey Bitoni and more. It was a porn fan’s wet dream as the girls all signed autographs, posed for pics and were there to meet you.

During the show, the media blitz was insane. TV news crews went live from the show, newspaper reporters did interviews, Opie and Anthony did radio interviews, The Howard Stern television crew taped for a future show, and all in all over 300 media outlets from around the world came and covered the show and girls.

Each day we presented our now infamous Q&A panel, “Everything You Wanted To Know About Porn…” featuring the top stars in adult. Girls from the booth joined us on stage, as did others in attendance such as Gina Lynn, Tricia Devereaux, Travis Knight, Flower Tucci, Ron Jeremy and more. If you ever want to find out some cool shit and hear some funny mother fuckers like Penny Flame or Stormy Daniels, make sure you come down for one of these panels. We’ve actually been approached by some people about taking the panel on the road to colleges, so stay tuned.

The girls were all incredible, despite some “technical” issues, such as idiot limo drivers, fucked up car services from the airport, pushy reporters, and stupid shit like that. They all put in their time signing and most went way above the time they had to sign for just so they could meet fans.

I really want to mention that Jesse Jane gets the trooper award. She was doing a feature dance gig at The Harem Cabaret, which is about 45 minutes from the hotel we were at. The limo shows up about an hour late, then the driver gets lost and couldn’t drive worth a shit. I was on the phone with them as the driver was all over the road, and then got a call seconds after the asshole decided to hit a divider. Jesse wasn’t hurt, but was obviously shaken up. We called the police to find them, the GM of the club picked her up, and the girl still did her dance gigs. Now that’s fuckin’ pro!

On Monday, everyone pretty much headed back home, except for my friends Stormy Daniels, Mike Moz, Jesse Jane, Rick Patrick, J. Handy and some others. We decided to catch one of the last games at Yankee Stadium as they had never been to the Cathedral of Baseball. We caught the Yanks beating the White that had all the makings of a great game. We had great seats by the on-deck circle, saw Mariano Rivera come out to “Enter Sandman,” to close out the game, hot dogs, Cracker Jacks and more. They put Jesse on the Diamond Vision dancing to “YMCA,” had a welcome to Stormy on the scoreboard, and they all had a great time. It was a great way to end a great weekend.

All in all, around 18,000 people came through the doors over the three days at EXXXOTICA New York easily making it the most successful show to ever hit the NY/NJ area, but we are eternally thankful to the 18 or so girls who helped make the show a success for us. Thank you to all of the stars, the companies and people behind the scenes like Digital Playground’s Adella, Adam & Eve’s Katy Zvolerin, The Star Factory’s Mike Moz and Monstar, Dirrty, Josh, Pip, Larissa from The Spread Group, Derek Hay from L.A. Direct Models, Gabe and his crew, Jac, Steve Prue and anyone else who helped out. You guys fuckin’ rocked and we hope to see you next year!

Tattoos can occasionally be a topic of controversy. What might look “cool” in someone’s opinion might look atrocious to others. That topic of discussion has come up frequently throughout my career. I find myself talking to others about their tattoos and the reasons for getting them and in turn, I show off mine and give them little history on my own skin art. I proudly tell them about the dragon on my hip; the moon on my right wrist; the Chinese characters on my left; the angel holding a cross on my upper back; the flower design on my left hip….and then I begrudgingly tell the tale of my embarrassing lower back. Yes, the tramp stamp; that fading Monet art piece that once upon a time used to be a cute little fairy resting in a wineglass. I’m getting rid of it.

My heartbeat races as I enter the procedure room. There it stood. The Q-switch laser. The ominous laser machine which would soon project tiny beams of fire onto my “mistake” sat waiting in the corner. The machine is supposed to zap pigment from the tattoo without leaving a scar. The process of tattoo removal greatly varies depending on one’s skin type, size of the tattoo, and color. The price is about $75 to a $100 per square inch every session. Colored tattoos, especially green, yellow, and red are the most difficult to remove. My tattoo that I want removed was a brightly colored fairy the size of my hand. It also had green vines surrounding it.

My knuckles turned white as I squeezed the worn out stress ball they handed to me at the beginning of the session. Oh the pain! The stench of lasered flesh mixed in with melting tattoo ink stings my nostrils. And the whole time I’m thinking to myself: “What was I thinking!!”

Finally, the procedure is over. I begin my slow trudge out of the doctor’s office. I look like a tormented hunchback with my hand holding an ice pack on my throbbing back. As I slowly get into my car, I regrettably compare the pain of receiving that particular tattoo to the agonizing torture that I had just experienced. I wish I can go back in time and kick my own ass.

I waited. Ever since the first email notification I received on the 9th of April, I waited. I would eagerly make scratch marks on my calendar with a red felt-tipped pen as I counted down till the glorious day of May 17th. I, along with legions of fans, patiently waited for that special day to fall upon us. What, pray tell, may be the special event that occurs on the 17 That’s right, ladies and gentlemen! The new Simpsons ride opens in Universal Studios! Can I get a “Whoo-hoo!”? This is the closest humanity will ever get to exploring the colorful town of Springfield. Imagine the experience!

The ride started off ascending through puffy white clouds on a rickety old wooden coaster. I heard the Simpsons family bickering in the background right before the car plunges back down to earth. In a matter of five minutes, our tour leads us through a three-dimensional world among yellow creatures with four-fingered hands and rainbow-sprinkled donuts. Almost every Simpsons character was present as we roamed around in animated paradise. We visited famous attractions such as Jebediah Springfield’s statue, Springfield Elementary, and of course, the legendary Kwik-E-Mart. After visiting an assortment of brightly painted landmarks, the ride even took us through their own mock adaptation of several well-known California-based theme park rides such as Disneyland’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” and Sea World’s water parks. The ride then ended with the capture of Sideshow Bob. The town is now safe.

That was the only ride I went on that day. But I did not care. My visit was complete. After eating an ice cream cone, I headed home feeling like a happy little kid.

I am the biggest chickenshit when it comes to horror movies. I am the perfect scaredy-cat to bring to slasher films on the first date because I will also end up shivering on your lap by the end of the movie.

So imagine everyone’s surprise when I agreed to participate in my friend, Tommy Pistol’s trailer for his horror movie called It Ate His Face. It was the first horror-related anything I had taken any interest in since The Shining. (I’ll save any Shining-related stories for another time.) The movie was themed after those guts-and-gore 80’s horror flicks. Like the kind where the quarterback, who proudly dons his varsity letterman’s jacket, is trying to seduce the ditzy head cheerleader in the backseat of his convertible. Then, they hear a noise….

So that was the basic plot line of It Ate His Face. My friends (who were played by Rocco Reed and Nikki Rhodes) and I were hanging out and getting stoned on a dark, dark night. And, of course, there was a lot of tease. Nikki was making out with Rocco, I was making out with Nikki…blah, blah. And then all of a sudden…..Rocco’s dog hears a noise. Rocco and Nikki slowly go outside to investigate, leaving me all by my lonely self. And then……you can watch the rest of the movie to find out.

I absolutely enjoyed every last minute of making the movie. It was very hard work but it was worthwhile. Not once did anyone complain about the late hours or the ickiness of the fake blood and pig guts sticking on their skin. It was definitely team work. Everyone devoted a hundred and ten percent of their talents into creating this film which made such a delightful environment to work in. Also, it was a nice little change having my clothes on while a camera was in front of me.
