EXXXOTICA New York… The Week After

Here it is a week later and I’m finally done with the EXXXOTICA New York show. I’ve caught my breath, but am still trying to catch up on shit. Nevertheless, I thought I would give my take on how the show went, the behind the scenes happenings, and a few other details on what went down with the show before, during and after.
EXXXOTICA New York was all set to go. We had a superstar line-up that couldn’t be matched, and then the mayor of the host city, Secaucus, got a bug up his ass and all hell broke loose in the media. As you’ve heard, the show was moved about 40 miles south to the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center in Edison (much to that mayor’s chagrin, but he couldn’t legally do shit, so :-P) and the doors opened to some very happy fans.
No one knew what to expect out of the show. Historically, New York/New Jersey based adult shows haven’t had the best track record. The East Coast Video Show that was held in Atlantic City every year died a slow, horrible death. You had a show at the Javits Center in NYC that did okay, but never returned. There was a flea-markety show across from Penn Station in New York that maybe attracted 5,000 people, and t hen the ill-fated East Coast edition of the Exotic Erotic Ball down at the Pier whose attendees could’ve fit in an Outback Steakhouse. Would this show be better? Would the media attention help? Would the last minute move to Edison hurt? No one knew, but we were all surprised.
From the moment the doors opened to the public, EXXXOTICA New York had non-stop lines coming in. Of course we are patting ourselves on the back, but we had the greatest stars in the business signing at our booth—Jesse Jane, Stormy Daniels, Bree Olson, Kayden Kross, Gianna Lynn, Stoya, Sasha Grey, Hillary Scott, Teagan, Sunny Leone, Sunny Lane, Arianna Armani, Moxxie Maddron, Paola Rey, Lexxi Tyler, Penny Flame, Taryn Thomas, Roxy DeVille, Audrey Bitoni and more. It was a porn fan’s wet dream as the girls all signed autographs, posed for pics and were there to meet you.
During the show, the media blitz was insane. TV news crews went live from the show, newspaper reporters did interviews, Opie and Anthony did radio interviews, The Howard Stern television crew taped for a future show, and all in all over 300 media outlets from around the world came and covered the show and girls.
Each day we presented our now infamous Q&A panel, “Everything You Wanted To Know About Porn…” featuring the top stars in adult. Girls from the booth joined us on stage, as did others in attendance such as Gina Lynn, Tricia Devereaux, Travis Knight, Flower Tucci, Ron Jeremy and more. If you ever want to find out some cool shit and hear some funny mother fuckers like Penny Flame or Stormy Daniels, make sure you come down for one of these panels. We’ve actually been approached by some people about taking the panel on the road to colleges, so stay tuned.
The girls were all incredible, despite some “technical” issues, such as idiot limo drivers, fucked up car services from the airport, pushy reporters, and stupid shit like that. They all put in their time signing and most went way above the time they had to sign for just so they could meet fans.
I really want to mention that Jesse Jane gets the trooper award. She was doing a feature dance gig at The Harem Cabaret, which is about 45 minutes from the hotel we were at. The limo shows up about an hour late, then the driver gets lost and couldn’t drive worth a shit. I was on the phone with them as the driver was all over the road, and then got a call seconds after the asshole decided to hit a divider. Jesse wasn’t hurt, but was obviously shaken up. We called the police to find them, the GM of the club picked her up, and the girl still did her dance gigs. Now that’s fuckin’ pro!
On Monday, everyone pretty much headed back home, except for my friends Stormy Daniels, Mike Moz, Jesse Jane, Rick Patrick, J. Handy and some others. We decided to catch one of the last games at Yankee Stadium as they had never been to the Cathedral of Baseball. We caught the Yanks beating the White that had all the makings of a great game. We had great seats by the on-deck circle, saw Mariano Rivera come out to “Enter Sandman,” to close out the game, hot dogs, Cracker Jacks and more. They put Jesse on the Diamond Vision dancing to “YMCA,” had a welcome to Stormy on the scoreboard, and they all had a great time. It was a great way to end a great weekend.
All in all, around 18,000 people came through the doors over the three days at EXXXOTICA New York easily making it the most successful show to ever hit the NY/NJ area, but we are eternally thankful to the 18 or so girls who helped make the show a success for us. Thank you to all of the stars, the companies and people behind the scenes like Digital Playground’s Adella, Adam & Eve’s Katy Zvolerin, The Star Factory’s Mike Moz and Monstar, Dirrty, Josh, Pip, Larissa from The Spread Group, Derek Hay from L.A. Direct Models, Gabe and his crew, Jac, Steve Prue and anyone else who helped out. You guys fuckin’ rocked and we hope to see you next year!
