It was just a matter of time. On the eve of her Bollywood film debut in Jism 2, adult star and new Indian media darling Sunny Leone announced that she’ll no loner perform in porn — at least for the next few years.

The Hindustan Times reported that Leone is ditching porn to focus on making Hindi films, and that she’s already confirmed for one new movie and is talking with major filmmakers.

Leone will however continue to run her SunLust Pictures Company based in Los Angeles. A source said her adult movies would still be made, but she would be mainly in the production and supervision capacity and will continue to travel between Mumbai and L.A.

“Yes, for next couple of years it would be only feature films for me. Of course I would be continuing to make adult movies in the West; after all I have an office and a staff there which means I have to keep the ball rolling there. However, I won’t be seen in these films,” Leone told the Times.

The Indo-Canadian star recently received feelers from major Bollywood producers to star in more productions, no doubt prompting her exit from porn roles.

Commenting on the expected disappointment from her online fans Leone said, “Well, [they’ll] see me on the big screen, that should be a good enough bonus.”

Hype for her Jism 2 premiere had Leone posing for promotional  “bedroom shots” in a central Delhi hotel draped in white bed sheet and wearing a matching bra.

The star was also mobbed by fans upon her arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport last Saturday. Husband and chief promoter Daniel Weber was with Leone and reportedly pleased with the buzz surrounding her newfound fame.

Despite the hoopla, Leone’s film’s title, Jism (that means “body” in Hindi), and her porn star past, have sparked controversy in the country according to the Washington Post, causing a backlash from traditionalists who have torn down its poster, led a crackdown on bars in Mumbai and are pushing for an informal curfew for women.

The criticism has caused Leone some anxiety over her newfound celebrity but she said, “Of course, for me to step into a feature film was a big decision. There is a definite story that is being told in Jism 2, it is not frivolous cinema by any means. [Director] Pooja (Bhatt) did tell me that she would present me well. Yes, the promos may have given an indication of a sex-laden film but inherently it is a dramatic thriller. Wait for some surprises.”

A new theatrical trailer for producer/director Pooja Bhatt’s Jism 2 reveals Sunny Leone’s character to be a porn star. The erotic thriller marks Leone’s Bollywood acting debut and will release in India on Aug. 3.

Jism 2 follows Izna (Leone), an adult film star hired by the government as a “honey-trap” to seduce and capture a notorious assassin (Randeep Hooda). Things get complicated when she not only falls for the killer, but also for the intelligence officer ( Arunoday Singh) that hired her.

India’s Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC), after much deliberation, tagged the film last week with an adults-only ‘A’ certificate, prompting Bhatt to tweet, “August 3 here we come! India just got itself an erotic thriller that truly reflects the times.”

The film, which began production in April, has garnered major media buzz in India since Leone’s involvement with the project was first announced, making it the country’s most anticipated movie release of the year.

Leone’s casting also sparked a tremendous amount of controversy in the country, which recently led to conservative parties filing legal motions in court to attempt to prevent the film’s release, citing the “adverse moral impact that [Leone's] presence would have on society.”

The latest public-interest litigation (PIL) will go before the Allahabad High Court on Aug. 8, five days after the film’s theatrical release.

Costar Arunoday Singh shrugs off the entire brouhaha. “Sunny is starting life afresh,” he told DailyPioneer.com. “Just because she did porn, doesn’t mean Jism 2 will be about it. How could we release it legally?”

Leone’s Bollywood career, meanwhile, continues to flourish with endorsement deals for Manforce Condoms and Chaze Mobile and a new starring role in yet another high-profile Bollywood sequel, Ragini MMS 2 a cabin-in-the-woods set ghost story from Balaji Motion Pictures and Ekta Kapoor.

XBIZ TV on Tuesday debuted an exclusive new video interview with award-winning adult film actress Sunny Leone.

Leone spoke with XBIZ in the midst of her final preparations for India, where she is slated to begin shooting her Bollywood film debut in Jism 2 this month.

The performer’s popularity in India skyrocketed as a result of her six-week run on the reality TV show Big Boss 5, the equivalent of “Big Brother” in the U.S. During the show Leone was approached by prominent Indian filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt with the Bollywood offer.

“I’ve always had a fan following in India — a lot of my website traffic comes from India — but I’ve never really tapped into the Indian market until I was on this show,” the Indian-Canadian star told XBIZ Managing Editor Dan Miller. “I was on this show for six weeks and I was in 25 to 45 million homes every night at 10 o’clock. There was a new show on every single day of the week. It was a really amazing experience and from that for the first time in Indian television history a director came on television and wanted to sign an actor right on the spot, which happened to be me.”

Jism means “body” in Hindi, the official language of India. Leone said that Bhatt is one of India’s most respected Bollywood producers. Bhatt wrote Jism 2 and his daughter Pooja will direct the film. Leone told Miller that appearing on the reality show, accepting the Bollywood offer and then fielding dozens more movie and endorsement offers has been “the craziest thing that’s ever happened in my life.”

“I don’t understand it just yet,” Leone continued. “I don’t understand their obsession and fascination with me, but I’m not complaining. I think it’s amazing and I’m very, very flattered.”

The interest in Leone is evident from the huge spike in traffic to her official website SunnyLeone.com. In the interview, the 2003 Penthouse Pet of the Year and Vivid Girl also discussed what it meant to win the coveted “Porn Star Site of the Year” award at the 2012 XBIZ Awards show in January.

PornStarTweet & AVN Media Network Put Face.com API to Work at the 2012 AVN Awards Red Carpet!

AVN Media Network and PornStarTweet.com joined forces on Saturday, January 21 to provide live photo coverage of the 2012 AVN Awards from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The two companies processed and tweeted more than 800 photos seconds after the biggest stars in adult entertainment were photographed—which resulted in 35 million Twitter impressions (as measured by SproutSocial.com) from the photos and more than 4.5 million interactions (retweets, clicks or favorites) over the next 48 hours.

Using a Facial Recognition API provided by Face.com, development partner Joe Cabe (aka Webmaster Joe,  @WebmasterJoe) and PornStarTweet.com created the application which processed more than 1,500 raw photos shot by adult industry veteran photographer Rick Garcia (@IndustryByRick) during the two-and-a-half-hour AVN Awards Red Carpet, while industry vet Gerald Saunders (@GeraldSaunders) assisted in confirmation of photos and training the application prior to and during the event.

“After nearly three years of focused attention on social media in the adult industry, we are constantly surprised and amazed by the things we achieve when bleeding the edge,” said Pete Housley (@PeteHousley), CEO of PornStarTweet. “This was truly the first time we’ve been able to interactively and nearly instantaneously process this quantity of photos. However, Father/daughter directorial team, Mahesh and Pooja Bhatt, stated that Leone’s role was based solely for a need for authenticity in the film, in which the beautiful porn star depicted perfectly.

“We have done authentic casting in Jism 2,” said Pooja. “We have taken Sunny Leone because we want a girl who plays that kind of part and persona. It is very important you cast authentically,” Bhatt continues, “Everyone talks about out-of-the-box casting, but no one does it.”

Leone, who has to take Hindu lessons for her role, tweeted her excitement recently: ““Hey everyone! So excited to be working on JISM 2. Remember to follow @jism2 to get all the movie news first! Xoxo.”

And for those who fear Leone’s mainstream work is only going to hinder her hardcore acting—don’t fret—Leone confirmed she is still staying in the jizz biz.

Adult performer Sunny Leone has revealed that she plans on continuing her career in porn, while pursuing mainstream opportunities.

During an interview with IndiaToday.in, Leone said that she would never leave porn because it was the base of her success.

She also denied various rumors that claim she is a lesbian. She said she has always  been attracted to men, though she also loves women.

Leone recently appeared in the Indian reality show “Bigg Boss 5,” where she was voted off before the finale.

The Indo-Canadian performer spiced up the Indian airwaves since her arrival on the show becoming a media pop sensation.

Leone said that following her first appearance on the show, her Twitter account shot past 110,000 followers. She also is a top Google search in India and her Facebook fan pages have been blowing up the social networking site.

For now, she is focusing on her next project. Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has cast Leone in his next venture Jism 2, to be made under the banner of Vishesh Films.

On January 21, the Best Adult Movie of 2011 from Any Genre Will be Crowned!

For the first time in its 29-year history, the AVN Awards ceremony will culminate this year in the presentation of an all-encompassing grand accolade dubbed “Movie of the Year.”

Contenders for the Movie of the Year award will not be predetermined by committee the way nominees in other categories traditionally are; rather, they will consist of the winners in the following 10 top races: “Best All-Sex Release,” “Best All-Sex Release – Mixed Format,” “Best All-Girl Release,” “Best Gonzo Release,” “Best Vignette Release,” “Best Comedy,” “Best Feature,” “Best Foreign Feature,” “Best Parody – Comedy,” and “Best Parody – Drama.”

In kind, voting for “Movie of the Year” will not be conducted until just prior to the January 21 ceremony, and will take place in a secret meeting among only the core members of the AVN Awards committee, so as to maintain the highest level of confidentiality possible concerning the winners of these major honors.

“I am very excited we’ve decided to create the “Movie of the Year” award,” AVN senior editor Peter Warren said. “Even since the beginning, when we presented separate awards for “Best Film” and “Best Video Feature,” there’s been no definitive AVN Award equivalent to Best Picture. Now we have one.”

The notion to institute “Movie of the Year” arose during the weeks-long AVN Awards nominations process this fall, when it dawned on committee members that such an overall best-of-the-best prize was the one thing glaringly missing from the vast array of awards categories.

“We knew, however, that we couldn’t nominate just any title for the award, because what kind of sense would it make if a title was nominated for “Movie of the Year” but didn’t even win in its respective category? So we came up with this method of determining what would be in the running,” Warren explained. “I think this is going to set off a big stir in the industry and make for the most exciting AVN Awards Show we’ve ever seen.”

The AVN Awards takes place January 21, 2012 at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.  The Joint is a sleek and upscale, 4,000-seat showroom with the reputation as one of the most sophisticated and authentic venues in Las Vegas.

The Penthouse Pet Joins Fellow Trophy Girl Brett Rossi On-Stage, January 21!

Fiery, redheaded adult star Sabrina Maree will join Brett Rossi on-stage as a 2012 AVN Awards trophy girl.  The petite Sacramento, Calif. native was the December 2010 Penthouse Pet of the Month and only performs with girls on-camera.

The position of Trophy Girl is one of the most highly visible and prestigious distinctions for rising stars within the adult industry. The duo is on stage for the duration of the awards show and featured prominently on the show’s cable broadcast.

“I am so completely thrilled and honored at the offer to be a trophy girl at AVN!” Sabrina said.  “This is going to be my first time attending the awards, so it’s even more exciting.  Thanks to AVN for the opportunity.”

Though only in the business for a short time, Maree has an impressive list of accomplishments and credits for prestigious studios.  Her filmography includes starring roles for Hustler Video, Girlfriends Films, New Sensations, Smash Pictures, Reality Kings, Adam & Eve, and more.

Sabrina Maree has been featured in advertising campaigns for Penthouse Shots, Fleshlight, and CalExotics.  The green-eyed stunner was a “Twistys Treat” in December 2010 and the “Treat of the Year” runner-up in 2011.  She’s also been featured on the cover of Hustler and in the pages of Playboy Lingerie and Playboy’s Girls of Sacramento.

A featured model and actress in a number of mainstream projects including “The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen,” Sabrina appeared in Taio Cruz and Black Angel music videos, as well as NBC’s “Chuck.” She was also a guest on the Howard Stern Show and won the program’s Pet Pageant.
